When utilizing the Internet as a means of research, it may become difficult to decipher truth from fiction, reality from idealism, and validity from illogical. This is especially true if you are researching a topic which you are unfamiliar with or updating yourself on an evolving subject. Some guidelines to consider include the origin, bias, currency, and overall accuracy of the information. “With the huge amount of information available, it is imperative that students and teachers learn how to critically evaluate a site (Schrock).”
