How to change a user’s Windows XP password

Method 1
Click Start > Run
Type ‘control userpasswords2′
Click ‘OK’
Click the User Name of the person you would like to change
Click the ‘Reset Password’ button
You will be asked to type a new password twice
Click OK

Method 2
Click Start > Run
Type ‘cmd’
Click ‘OK’
Type ‘net user user_name’ (where user_name = the user name you are changing the password of)
Press ‘Enter’
You will be asked for the new password twice, follow the instructions

Method 3: Advanced Users
Click Start > Run
Click ‘OK’
Type ‘net user user_name new_password (where user_name = the user name you are changing the password of and new_password is the new password)
